Isobel Brigham

Artist profile
Isobel Brigham (b. 2001, York) creates work to showcase the repeating moments of life. She explores shared memories though brightly hued paintings that combine luminescent colour with archival images and personal photographs. Decisive brush strokes, form a close look at family life, friendship, childhood, engage in culture, and question nostalgia. Addressing social reality, her figures reflect personal surroundings, present and past. Speaking to the fragility of memory and relationships, images are produced with fragmented space and linework. Through process, and reflected through paint, Isobel questions herself and identity, while lively use of pinks and blues, are layered for saturated vibrancy; directly responding to the dreamlike state of reminiscence and luminosity in daily life. Isobel received a BA in Fine Art from De Montfort University and has exhibited in Basel, London, Leicester, Norwich and Oxfordshire. In 2026 Isobel completed a residency in Switzerland.
