Lara Christina Miller

Artist profile
Lara is a coloured pencil artist based in the South of England, creating detailed still life drawings that explore the intricacies of the everyday. Rooted in careful observation, her work draws attention to the subtle details and textures that can easily go unnoticed in the pace of daily life. The process of drawing is equally important to Lara as the finished work. Coloured pencil is an inherently slow and meticulous medium, with each drawing taking many hours to build through fine layers of colour and detail. This allows Lara to become fully immersed, offering a way to slow down and step away from the demands of everyday life. In turn, she hopes her work offers the viewer a similar sense of stillness, inviting them to pause and look more closely. Alongside her artistic practice, she works as an architect in London, a discipline that shares many of the same principles of observation and precision. Having recently completed her professional training, she is now dedicating more time to developing her artistic practice.
