Ruby is a British, London-based artist, whose work explores femininity, identity and emotion through detailed portraits and dream-like compositions.  She blurs the boundary between reality and imagination, creating portraits that feel both familiar and otherworldly. Alongside her career in psychology, her work invites the viewer to look beneath the surface of the human experience, revealing deep-rooted hopes, fears and fantasies. Inspired by the glossy, reflective qualities of the skin, she uses the texture of oil paint to play with the light and capture its luminosity, capturing conventional beauty in a way that feels unsettling.
